Brief introduction to Wegaw

We are a young fast-growing Swiss specialized software and services firm on a mission to support the global transition to clean energy with geospatial insights. We process satellite data with machine learning to optimize the efficiency of trading and energy production. Our first satellite data-powered solution was built, with the support of the European Space Agency and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), to enhance satellite data and geospatial data inputs with cutting-edge Machine Learning to monitor key environmental variables of water, snow or wind.

We are a 9-strong closely-knit team from Switzerland, Spain, Ireland, the UK and Germany with international partnerships reaching across the world. Our work culture is objective-oriented and based on efficient teamwork, with flexible working hours and locations. We offer an international and friendly environment with offices in Spain and Switzerland, where we are on the pursiot to push spatial data for the transition towards a 100% clean energy future.

About the role

We’re looking for a Head of Business Development with strong problem-solving capabilities and a proven track-record to join us during our growth phase. The chosen candidate will be leveraging their experience by working hands-on with the CEO to ensure exponential commercial growth. They will be supporting and owning the go-to-market and sales strategy efforts to ensure that our product offering maximises value for our clients and for Wegaw.

Responsibilities and day-to-day tasks

  • Execute growth/sales strategy with Wegaw’s CEO to ensure commercial objectives are met and business strategy is aligned with go-to-market strategy.
  • Create feedback loops from client operations into sales and go-to-market strategy.
  • Oversee marketing and sales alignment on go-to-market/business strategy.
  • Develop proposals for new clients.
  • Build further commercial opportunities from existing clients and their networks
  • Build trust and confidence of the company in the clean energy industry.
  • Actively contributes to the Wegaw brand and ensures values alignment.

Desirable experience and skills

  • Demonstrated 6+ years experience in Sales/Business development in the energy industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SaaS products or data/digitization companies.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully planning and executing GTM strategy of a new product.
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy market, hydropower is a plus.
  • Knowledge of spatial data, environmental science or earth observation is a plus.

Personal traits that we look for

  • Fluency in English is a must. Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, German or French are a plus.
  • Confidence in communicating business needs.
  • Team player.
  • Self-organized, autonomous, accountable and strongly motivated.
  • Proactive and with strong initiative-taking.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow.
